What an adorable restaurant! If I lived in Bend I’m certain the staff would know me by name. I went for breakfast and had the hardest time ordering. I settled on the Pesto & Eggs, two of my favorites so together this dish sounded like heaven. The Sparrow baguette it was served on was so tasty and provided the perfect pedestal for the stars of the dish. I did myself a favor and added bacon to my order. Excellent! I normally stick to water but I couldn’t help but notice all their kombuchas on tap. What?! Brilliant! I got the non-flavored one (I can’t remember the name now) and it was exactly what I wanted. They’re very friendly and let you try as many as you’d like. I would love to try their lunch and dinner options. Next time!
Once upon a time this spot used to be a secret but…that’s not so much the case anymore. The line will prove it too! But don’t be afraid, people are there for a reason and it’s worth the wait. Just grab a coffee, iced tea or malt and make the most of it:)
I was there recently for brunch and was overwhelmed by all the tasty options on the menu. What to order – what to order! I finally decided on the chilaquiles. That seems to be my go-to whenever I see it on a menu. I’m so glad I decided to add the “smoked pork” for $3.50…worth every cent!!! What a scrumptious breakfast/brunch/lunch! I couldn’t even finish it but I didn’t leave overly stuffed and I would definitely go back for this again. My friend got the “shrimp & grits” which were just as amazing. There was so much more to both these dishes than expected. Packed with flavor and complexity…the first bite left us moaning, “Mmmmm…Mmmmm!”:)
The “chicken & waffle” and “breakfast toast” had me salivating as well. Next time:)
This is always a must for breakfast when we make our way down to PV. Although they’re open for lunch and dinner as well, I’ve only ever been for breakfast. I get the same thing every time…the chilaquiles with chicken. It’s large and can easily be shared. I think about this dish a lot when I’m gone and always look forward to going back when I’m in town. The beans that are served with it are SO good…I could probably go for two servings of those:) I almost forgot to mention that with your breakfast you get a selection of sweet breads to munch on. My personal favorite is the sugar one…yum! You won’t be sorry you went here. The food is outstanding, the service is great and the location gives you a great view of the ocean along with some great people watching. (Dogs are welcome outside!)
You wouldn’t think Revel could get much better but if you haven’t been there on a weekend then you’re definitely missing out. On Saturdays and Sundays from 10am – 2pm, Revel offers the most incredible and unique brunch. From your classic eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast to ramen, Kalbi burger and kaffir lime yogurt – it caters to everyone!
Your best bet is to go with a group of 4 so you can sample something from every category on the menu without getting overly full. All of the dishes are appropriate to share so don’t be afraid to order more than you normally would…take a little and pass it down:) I promise there won’t be food leftover.
Must haves include the bacon gruyere biscuit, the Revel ramen, the Kalbi burger (you won’t want to share this once you take your first bite), kaffir lime yogurt with mango and black rice puffs, and the short rib rice bowl. The Abura noodle bowl is also very scrumptious. More on the savory side for breakfast/brunch – I would love it anytime of the day. It might sound like most of these things are filling but again…go with friends and share!
Just off the plane in Sydney for the first time, my good friend Lauren picked me up from the airport and took me here for “brekkie”…what they call breakfast in Australia. The location and view couldn’t have been better. Situation right above Bronte Beach, Café Salina offers delicious breakfast and lunch options and even have gluten free bread options which you don’t see everywhere. I absolutely loved what I ordered and would get it again in a heartbeat (Breakfast Bruschetta) but if I were there for lunch I would love to try the Grilled Prawn Salad or the Seafood Platter for 2…yum!
